Here’s what we have coming up soon:

Friday, March 5: Tonight is our weekly small group meeting. This week, the girls and guys will be meeting together at Lucas’ house. We’ll be cooking spaghetti and playing games, and it starts at 6:30 PM. Be there!

Wednesday, March 10: Our weekly meeting will be in the Canyon Room (2nd floor of the SUB) and will begin at 6:30 PM. We meet every week for a time of worship and Bible study, and usually go out to eat afterward. We would love to have you come join us for this time of spiritual teaching and fellowship.

Friday, March 12: There will be no small group on this day since it’s the beginning of Spring Break. Stay safe!

That’s all for now, but we’ll have more events coming as soon as we return from spring break, such as our fellowship at the District Office at the end of the month. So check back soon!

Since this is the last week of the month, our events are a little different:

Wednesday, Feb. 24: Our monthly prayer meeting will take place in the Arroyo Room on the second floor of the SUB. We’ll meet at 6:30 PM for a time of corporate and individual prayer. Directly following the meeting, we’ll have a short CAST (Chi Alpha Steering Team) meeting in which we’ll talk about some upcoming events and take input from everyone on what they would like to see us do. Everyone is welcome to stay for that. Afterward, we’ll most likely go out to eat.

Friday, Feb. 26: Our group fellowship event will take place at J&B Coffee, which is located at 26th and Boston. We’ll be in the back room and will probably play games and just enjoy a time of fellowship with each other. It begins at 6:30 PM and we’d love to see you there!

Well, LSU just left for home, and it’s hard to put into words how awesome that weekend was. It was an amazing experience and everyone seemed to be really blessed by it. We’ll be talking more about it in the coming weeks, and pictures should be on here at some point soon.

Wednesday, Feb. 17: Our weekly worship meeting will be in the Canyon Room (second floor of the SUB) and begins at 6:30 PM. Come join us for a time of worship and fellowship. We’ll be discussing the LSU trip and Reyna will share a short devotion. We always go out to eat afterward, so save your appetite!

Friday, Feb. 19: Small groups take place on Fridays–the girls meet at Lincy’s apartment and the guys meet at Daniel’s apartment. We meet for about an hour for a discussion of Scripture, and meet up at the end to go out to eat. It’s a great way to meet fellow like-minded students and have fun. Contact us if you need directions. The meetings begin at 7:30 PM.

So we’ve had some changes since the last post, the main thing is that the OneVoice people won’t be able to come due to snow and ice in the Dallas area, so the burn will be postponed to a weekend in April–we’ll keep you updated on that. Here’s the updated schedule:

Saturday-

NOTE:  Due to the snow and ice in the Dallas area, the Burn has been postponed to a weekend in April.  Details soon!

4:00pm- Meet at the SUB in the Lubbock room for fellowship, pizza, prayer and worship with LSU.

Sunday-

11:30am- We will all be going to church together, so if you are interested in joining we’ll be at Trinity Church.

5:00pm-Leadership training with LSU at Rick and Mary Povlich’s (7806 Zoar Ave).  I’m sure after this training that everybody will be hanging out, so we’ll let you know!

Monday-

11am-3pm-Chi Alpha contact table in the Free Speech area at Tech.  If you are interested in helping set this up, please let me know.

VERY IMPORTANT:

5:00pm- Speed Friendship event at J&B coffee back room (26^th and Boston Ave).  This is an awesome opportunity for you to reach out to a friend that is not plugged into God!  This is a unique outreach that LSU will be doing for us.  All you do is bring one friend outside of Chi Alpha.

Tuesday-

10am-1pm-Chi Alpha contact table in the Free Speech area at Tech.  If you are interested in helping set this up, please let me know.

There are a lot of exciting things coming up, so try to attend as much as you can!

Here’s a more detailed schedule for the next few days, and the events we’re doing with the LSU group:

Saturday, Feb 13: 12 hour prayer (the burn) with OneVoice from 11AM-11PM in the Lubbock room in the SUB.

Sunday, Feb. 14: 5:00PM leadership meeting, 6:00PM hang-out time.

Monday, Feb 15: Contact table in the free speech area (between the SUB and library) from 11AM-3PM. Definitely need help for this! That evening, we might be doing some kind of outreach event.

Tuesday, Feb. 16: Contact table in the free speech area, time TBA. Need help for this one too.

Try to attend these events if you can, we need your help and it’ll  be a lot of fun.

Saturday, Feb. 13 – Tuesday, Feb. 16: LSU will be coming to minister to us and help us with contact tables and other outreach events. Stay tuned for more information on that schedule.

Saturday, Feb. 13: OneVoice will be coming to do a “burn” (12 hour prayer) on Saturday in the Lubbock Room of the SUB from 11AM-11PM. It’s a come and go thing, but try and come participate if you can. It’ll be a great experience.

Hey everyone, it’s a new week and this one is a little different since it’s the end of the month.

Wednesday, January 27: Our weekly meeting is this night, but we’re having a prayer meeting this week. So there will be music playing and it’s just a prayer time. After the meeting, we’ll be having a quick CAST meeting (CAST: Chi Alpha Steering Team) which is where you can give your input on what we do in the next month or so. And of course we’ll go out to eat afterward. The meeting this week is in the Senate Room of the SUB and it starts at 6:30 PM.

Friday, January 29: Our group fellowship this month will be at J&B Coffee, which is at 26th and Boston. Not sure what time it will be at, but this post will be updated in the next day or two with that information. We’ll be hanging out and either watching a movie or playing board games, so come join us for some fun and relaxation.

Things will be a little different this week. For our regular meeting Wednesday night, we’re meeting at the District Office, which is located at 55th and Wayne (see the map below). We’ll be in the gym, and the meeting will start at the normal time, 6:30 PM.

Welcome back from the Christmas break! School is starting, and that means our meetings are beginning again.

We’ve changed the day to Wednesday, so the first meeting of 2010 will be on Wednesday, January 13th at 6:30 PM in the Canyon Room of the SUB. Hope to see you there!

Small group will be moved to Friday nights at 7:30, and the first meeting of that will be this Friday night (January 15) at 7:30 PM.

Well, the semester is winding down, but we still have some cool things planned:

Wednesday, Nov. 18: Small group at Daniel’s apartment (4th and Slide). Since this is the last one for the semester, we’ll be playing board games.

Friday, Nov. 20: This month’s fellowship event will be the Murder Mystery Dinner, which is in the SUB ballroom and starts at 7:00 PM. We’ll meet in the SUB by the cafeteria at about 6:30 PM. Note that Free Food Friday this month is canceled.

Saturday, Nov. 21: We’ll be tailgating for the OU game, west of the baseball field. Come join us, and bring your friends, because we’ll have plenty of hot dogs and other snacks.

Saturday, Dec. 5: Christmas Open House at Reyna’s house, more details about this to come.

Wednesday, Dec. 9: Christmas party. Again, more details to come, but mark your calendars now.
