Sorry for the delay in posts–here’s what’s coming up:
Weekly Meeting: Our meeting on Thursday, July 15 will be at Nichole’s house–see the email for her address or contact us if you aren’t on the email list. The meeting begins at 6:30 PM and we’ll be covering Chapter 7 of Crazy Love by Francis Chan. It’s a great book and even if you haven’t been reading the previous chapters, you’re still more than welcome to come.
Homeless Ministry: Every other night or so, a group of us get together and take food to the homeless population of Lubbock out by the Civic Center. If you’d like to come with us, send us an email at contact@xalubbock.com and we’ll put you in touch with someone for more information.

Hey everyone! So now that we’ve all had a few weeks off from school, our summer meetings are starting up again.
Every Thursday evening, starting this Thursday (June 10) we will be meeting for a time of worship and a book study. The book is called Crazy Love and we’ll be talking about Chapter 1 (the chapters are short!) this week. We’ll be meeting at Jackie’s apartment, which is at the University Pointe apartments (Off Glenna Goodacre, just east of campus) and her apartment is number 321. The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM.
We will definitely be planning other fun things for the summer–details about any upcoming events will be posted here as they’re planned. Come join us if you’re in Lubbock for the summer!

Things are a bit different this week, we weren’t able to get a room in the SUB for Wednesday’s meeting, so we’ll be in the back room at J&B Coffee (26th and Boston, see the map below). The meeting will still begin at 6:30 PM and will consist of worship and Bible study. Afterward, we’ll go eat and have some fellowship time.
Other events you should be aware of:
Midnight Worship: This is a new collective initiative by the various Christian organizations on the TTU campus. Worship takes place at Memorial Circle on Wednesday nights and Jacob’s Ladder in the Depot District (17th and Buddy Holly) on Friday nights. It begins at 11 PM both times and is a great experience that you should be a part of.
Small Group: Our small groups are meeting this Friday evening at 7:30 PM. The guys meet at Daniel’s apartment and the girls meet at Lincy’s apartment. We have a time of Bible study and discussion for an hour or so, and then meet for dinner. We may go straight to Midnight Worship after the small groups.
The Burn: OneVoice is bringing a team to our campus to do a “burn” (12-hour prayer) this Saturday from 11 AM-11 PM. This will consist of worship and prayer time, and is a come-and-go thing. Try to spend a little bit of time there as we intercede for our campus.

Well, another week is beginning, and that means another week of events. Here’s what we have coming up:
Wednesday, April 14: Our weekly worship/Bible study meeting will be in the Mesa Room on the second floor of the SUB (that’s right across from the Canyon Room) and will begin at 6:30 PM. We’ll do worship, and then Pastor Rick is bringing the message this week. Don’t miss it!
Friday, April 16: Our small groups will meet at 7:30 PM at Daniel and Lincy’s apartments for the guys and girls respectively. Afterward, we’ll meet up and hang out and probably go eat (Chi Alpha eats together a lot).
Other Events: OneVoice is coming to do a burn (12 hour prayer) on April 24. Stay tuned for a time and location, but clear your Saturday now so you can participate! It’s a come and go thing, so try to come and pray for a bit. It’ll be a great experience.

So we’re doing a car wash this weekend to raise money for Hope Chest (helps kids buy supplies for college who otherwise couldn’t afford to do so) and we could really use your help!
Location is TBA and we’ll probably go for a few hours starting at 1 PM. We have all the supplies, we just need you to show up and help! Let us know if you’re free.

We’d like to wish you all a happy Easter weekend, and safe travels if you’ll be on the road.
Our weekly meetings will continue as normal next week. Wednesday at 6:30 PM is the worship and Bible study meeting, and we’ll be in the Mesa Room on the second floor of the SUB (it’s right across from the Canyon Room).
On Friday, April 9, we’ll be meeting for small groups. More details on that to come.
As for other events, OneVoice will be joining us for a “Burn” (12 hour come and go prayer) on April 23-24. Come join us then for a time of prayer and spiritual recharging.
We also plan to have an end-of-the-year get together with other Christian organizations on campus. If you know anyone in another Christian organization at Texas Tech, please drop us an email so we can get in touch with you or them.

Welcome back from Spring Break!
Things are a little different this week; we were unable to reserve a room in the SUB for our Wednesday meeting. So this week we’re meeting at Daniel’s apartment, which is at Waterford Place (4th and Slide, right next to McDonald’s). The apartment number is 808 and it’s upstairs, in the building right next to the office. The meeting will still be at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, March 24.
Also, this Friday is our monthly fellowship, but we aren’t sure yet what we’re doing for that. We will discuss it at the meeting Wednesday night.

Here’s what we have coming up soon:
Friday, March 5: Tonight is our weekly small group meeting. This week, the girls and guys will be meeting together at Lucas’ house. We’ll be cooking spaghetti and playing games, and it starts at 6:30 PM. Be there!
Wednesday, March 10: Our weekly meeting will be in the Canyon Room (2nd floor of the SUB) and will begin at 6:30 PM. We meet every week for a time of worship and Bible study, and usually go out to eat afterward. We would love to have you come join us for this time of spiritual teaching and fellowship.
Friday, March 12: There will be no small group on this day since it’s the beginning of Spring Break. Stay safe!
That’s all for now, but we’ll have more events coming as soon as we return from spring break, such as our fellowship at the District Office at the end of the month. So check back soon!

Since this is the last week of the month, our events are a little different:
Wednesday, Feb. 24: Our monthly prayer meeting will take place in the Arroyo Room on the second floor of the SUB. We’ll meet at 6:30 PM for a time of corporate and individual prayer. Directly following the meeting, we’ll have a short CAST (Chi Alpha Steering Team) meeting in which we’ll talk about some upcoming events and take input from everyone on what they would like to see us do. Everyone is welcome to stay for that. Afterward, we’ll most likely go out to eat.
Friday, Feb. 26: Our group fellowship event will take place at J&B Coffee, which is located at 26th and Boston. We’ll be in the back room and will probably play games and just enjoy a time of fellowship with each other. It begins at 6:30 PM and we’d love to see you there!
